SSC Sacked Teachers: Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya Offers a Unique Proposal, But Is It Actually Possible?

SSC Sacked Teachers: Amidst the aftermath of the WBSSC (West Bengal School Service Commission) job cancellations due to the corruption scandal, lawyer and former Mayor Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya has put forth a novel proposal for those who have lost their jobs. In a recent interview, he discussed this in detail and also raised questions about the state government’s sincerity.

Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya’s Proposal:

Lawyer Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya suggests that all job-seeking individuals who believe they were not involved in any corruption and secured their jobs solely on merit should take the initiative to create their own list. He further stated that these honest job aspirants should publicly declare their non-involvement in corruption by wearing banners.

According to Bhattacharya, this step will naturally help identify the corrupt individuals. He emphasized that this list must be prepared by the protestors themselves because the state government will not take any such steps to protect those involved in corruption. In his opinion, this will make it possible to recover public money that has been paid as salaries to the corrupt individuals.

Questions Regarding the State Government’s Role:

Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya has raised several questions about the state government’s sincerity. He alleges that the state government does not actually want to make new appointments because their financial condition is dire; in fact, they are bankrupt. He believes that the government does not want educated people to get jobs but rather wants to exploit marginalized people by keeping them uneducated. In his view, the government is gradually moving towards privatization in the education and healthcare sectors.

He views the new recruitment notification as a tactic to evade the Supreme Court’s scrutiny. He fears that this notification will also be challenged, and the recruitment process will be stalled once again.

Preparation for Legal Battle:

Bhattacharya has stated that they will legally challenge the state government’s new recruitment notification. In his opinion, the state government’s review petition has no legal basis because they themselves had proposed a re-examination in the Supreme Court.

Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya’s proposal has offered a new direction for a section of the job losers. According to him, if the honest candidates can separate themselves, it will be easier to identify the corrupt individuals and create pressure on the government. It remains to be seen how the job losers will receive this proposal and whether it will lead to any positive change.
