Key Highlights of the New Roster

1. OBC Reservation:

  • A total of 17% of vacancies are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC).
  • This is further divided into 10% for Category-A, identified as “More Backward” , and 7% for Category-B, identified as “Backward”.

2. Ex-Servicemen Reservation:

  • For Group ‘C’ posts, the 11th, 22nd, 58th, 75th, and 81st vacancies are reserved for ex-servicemen.
  • For Group ‘D’ posts, the 5th, 17th, 21st, 31st, 49th, 54th, 63rd, 71st, 83rd, and 94th vacancies are reserved for ex-servicemen.

3. Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Reservation:

  • Specific posts are reserved for Persons with Disabilities. For example, the 12th post is for persons with Blindness and Low Vision, and the 32nd is for those with locomotor disabilities including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy[cite: 5].
  • If a suitable candidate with a benchmark disability is not available for a vacancy, it will be carried forward to the succeeding recruitment year.

4. Opportunities for Sportspersons:

  • The 33rd and 66th points in the roster are to be filled by meritorious sportspersons for Group ‘B’, ‘C’, and ‘D’ posts.

5. Exempted Category (E.C.):

  • The term ‘E.C.’ in the roster denotes Exempted Categories.
  • Appointing authorities must obtain names from the Exempted Category cell of the Directorate of Employment to fill these vacancies. This rule does not apply to cases of employment on compassionate grounds like death-in-harness.
  • In case a suitable Exempted Category candidate from a reserved community (SC, ST, OBC) is not available, the vacancy will be filled by a non-Exempted Category candidate from the same community.
