New Rules July 2025: Multiple Rules are Changing from July, Find Out How It Will Affect Your Life

New Rules July 2025: Starting from July, several significant changes are set to take place in our daily lives. New rules will be implemented for essential services ranging from digital payments to train ticket bookings and PAN card applications. These changes will directly impact the lives of ordinary people. Therefore, it is crucial to be well-informed about these new regulations in advance. Let’s take a look at what changes are coming from the first of July and how we should prepare for them.
New Rules in UPI Payments
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) has brought a revolution to the world of digital transactions. However, users often face problems in getting their money back (chargeback) in cases of mistaken transfers or fraud. Currently, for such complaints, banks and financial institutions have to wait for approval from the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI).
But this rule is changing from July. According to the new regulation, banks or financial institutions can directly initiate the chargeback process based on customer complaints. They will no longer require NPCI’s approval for this. It is expected that this change will lead to a faster resolution of chargeback-related issues and reduce customer harassment. The process of retrieving money in case of wrong transactions or fraud will become simpler and more customer-friendly.
Major Changes in Tatkal Ticket Booking
Getting a Tatkal train ticket is almost like winning a lottery. To make this booking process more transparent, Indian Railways has taken some important steps.
- Aadhaar Card Mandatory: From July 1, 2025, having an Aadhaar card will be mandatory for booking Tatkal tickets through the IRCTC website or mobile app. This will reduce the trend of booking tickets using fake profiles.
- OTP-Based Booking: From July 15, 2025, a One Time Password (OTP) system will be introduced for booking Tatkal tickets. This will be applicable not only for online bookings but also for tickets purchased from railway booking counters. This measure is expected to significantly curb the black market for tickets.
- New Rule for Agents: Authorized railway ticket agents will not be able to book any Tatkal tickets for the first 30 minutes after the booking window opens. This means they cannot book AC class Tatkal tickets from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM and non-AC class tickets from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM. This time will be exclusively reserved for general passengers, which will increase their chances of getting a ticket.
New Condition for PAN Card Application
From filing income tax returns to opening a bank account, a PAN (Permanent Account Number) card is an essential document. Until now, the Aadhaar card was used as an alternative proof of identity when applying for a PAN card.
However, according to the new rule from the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) of the Income Tax Department, providing an Aadhaar number will be mandatory for applying for a PAN card from July 1, 2025. Your Aadhaar number will be verified during the application process. The main objective of this step is to prevent individuals from holding multiple PAN cards and to curb tax evasion. Those who do not yet have an Aadhaar card are advised to get one made quickly.
These changes will directly impact our financial and travel plans. Therefore, it is wise to be aware of these new rules in time and take the necessary steps.
