Lakshmir Bhandar Payment Date Changed! New Date Announced by WB Finance Dept.

Lakshmir Bhandar Payment: With Durga Puja just around the corner, the West Bengal government had previously shared good news regarding salaries and pensions for lakhs of state government employees and pensioners. However, there was a question regarding the payment date for social security schemes like Lakshmir Bhandar and Jai Bangla. Recently, the Finance Department has issued a new notification, changing that date. Let’s find out the details.

What Was the Previous Announcement?

The Finance Department of the Government of West Bengal published a memorandum (Memo No. 3405-F(Y)) on September 16, 2025. According to that notification, due to the Puja holidays (from September 26th to October 7th, 2025), the September salaries for all state government employees were to be paid by September 24th & 25th, 2025. The date for the disbursement of pensions for September was fixed for October 1, 2025.

The same memorandum also stated that financial assistance for the month of September 2025, under schemes like Jai Bangla and Lakshmir Bhandar, would be credited directly (DBT) to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts on October 1, 2025.

What Does the New Corrigendum Say?

A few days after the initial notification, on September 22, 2025, the Finance Department issued a new corrigendum (Memo No. 3475-F(Y)). This new notification partially modifies a section of the previous memorandum.

According to this corrigendum, the financial assistance under schemes like Jai Bangla and Lakshmir Bhandar for the month of October 2025 will be credited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts within the first week of October 2025.

Key Changes at a Glance

This new notification brings two main changes that all beneficiaries should be aware of:

• Month of Payment: The previous memorandum mentioned the payment for the month of September. However, the new corrigendum clearly states that the payment will be for the month of October.
• Date of Payment: While a specific date of October 1st was mentioned earlier, the new notification states the payment will be made ‘within the first week of October’. This means the money could be credited to your account any day between October 1st and October 7th.

Therefore, all beneficiaries of the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme are advised that they will have to wait until the first week of October to receive the payment for October and should keep an eye on their bank accounts during that period.
