Action Taken by Authorities

The Directorate of School Education took swift action as soon as the matter came to their attention.

  • Investigation Ordered: The directorate sought a detailed explanation from the school principal, the teacher involved, and other officials responsible for the lapse.
  • Hearing: The principal and the teacher were summoned to appear in person before the Director of School Education, Ashish Kohli, on Saturday.
  • Disciplinary Action: During the hearing, Atter Singh admitted his mistake, stating it was an inadvertent error due to a lack of due diligence. However, his explanation was not accepted. Director Kohli warned, “Any act of negligence, casualness, or disregard towards official responsibilities that might tarnish the image of the Department will invite strict disciplinary action as per rules.” Following this, the decision was made to suspend him.
