SSC Exam Unearths Shocking Fraud: Bangladeshi Citizen Poses as Teacher Candidate in West Bengal!

SSC Exam: Just as the state is reeling from the teacher recruitment scam, another shocking incident has come to light. A Bangladeshi citizen has been accused of sitting for the West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) teacher recruitment examination. The individual, identified as Swarup Sarkar, was allegedly residing in India illegally and fraudulently obtained an admit card for the exam. This incident has raised serious questions about the state’s education and security systems.
How Did This Massive Fraud Unfold?
On September 7th, Swarup Sarkar appeared for the SSC examination for ninth and tenth-grade teacher recruitment. It is alleged that he is a Bangladeshi citizen with no valid proof of Indian citizenship. The Foreigners Regional Registration Organisation (FRRO), under the Union Home Ministry, has alerted both the Election Commission and the SSC about this matter. The letter stated that Sarkar is living in India illegally and that his name has been unlawfully added to the voter list.
Are University Certificates Also Forged?
The investigation has revealed even more explosive information. Preliminary findings suggest that Swarup Sarkar possesses certificates from Krishnanagar Government College and Rabindra Bharati University. Authorities are now investigating whether these documents are genuine or forged. If these certificates are proven to be fake, it will once again expose the deep-rooted corruption within the state’s education system. Questions are being raised as to how a foreign national could so easily acquire certificates from prominent state educational institutions.
The Role of the SSC Authorities
In response, the West Bengal School Service Commission has confirmed receipt of the FRRO’s letter. The commission stated that even if Sarkar passes the exam, he will not be issued an appointment letter, as all candidate documents are rigorously verified beforehand. However, they have provided no clear answer as to how a foreign national managed to obtain an exam admit card with allegedly false documents. The commission’s claim that verifying a candidate’s citizenship is not their responsibility has sparked further controversy.

This incident is not just a case of examination fraud; it highlights a major lapse in the state’s security apparatus. It raises the critical question of how a foreign national can live discreetly in the state for years and even attempt to secure a government job. There is a growing demand for a high-level investigation to determine if a larger network is operating behind this incident.
