Big News on SSC SLST Teachers Re-joining DPSC Issues Important Notice Know the Date and Required Documents

SSC SLST Re-joining: A significant step has been taken regarding the future of the 26,000 jobs from the 2016 recruitment process, which was cancelled due to the teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal. The South 24 Parganas District Primary School Council (DPSC) has issued an important notification, bringing relief to many teachers. This notification initiates the re-joining process for the SLST 2016 candidates into their previous jobs.

The notification was issued on 29/10/2025, and it clearly states that this action is being taken as per the directive of the Supreme Court.

Who is this Special Directive For?

This directive is primarily for those candidates who were selected in the 2016 SLST recruitment process and had left their previous primary school jobs to join the new posts. Subsequently, the recruitment of these 26,000 candidates was cancelled by the Calcutta High Court and later upheld by the Supreme Court, leaving many teachers unemployed.

On humanitarian grounds, the Supreme Court directed that candidates who had left their previous jobs (especially in primary schools) to join this recruitment should be given the opportunity to return to their former posts. Adhering to this directive, the South 24 Parganas DPSC has initiated this re-joining process.
