Madhyamik 2026 Portal: WBBSE Reopens Portal for Madhyamik 2026 Enrollment for One Day: Check Details

Madhyamik 2026 Portal: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has issued a highly critical notification regarding the Madhyamik 2026 examination. With the exams just around the corner, the Board has taken an unprecedented decision to facilitate thousands of students who might be facing issues due to administrative errors. This move is primarily aimed at rectifying mistakes caused by the negligence of certain school authorities.

Portal Re-opening Schedule

The Board has announced that the online portal for enrollment and data correction will be reactivated for a very limited period. It is crucial to note that this window will remain open for only 24 hours.

Key Dates and Timings:

EventTimeline
Portal OpensJanuary 27, from 12:00 PM
Portal ClosesJanuary 28, up to 12:00 PM
Collection of Revised Admit CardsJanuary 29

Reason Behind this Urgent Measure

The primary reason for this last-minute intervention is the negligence observed on the part of several schools. The Board identified that names of many eligible candidates were either not submitted or submitted with incorrect information by their respective schools. To ensure that no student loses an academic year due to institutional errors, the Board has decided to provide this final opportunity for rectification.

Eligibility Criteria for Correction

This special window is not open for everyone but is strictly conditional. Schools can process the enrollment or corrections only for students who meet the following specific criteria set by the Board:

  • Test Qualification: The student must have passed the Test Examination conducted by the school.
  • Attendance Requirement: The student must have a minimum aggregate attendance of 70% in Class IX and Class X combined.

Procedure and Penalties for Schools

The entire process must be executed through the respective schools. Students or guardians cannot apply directly to the Board. Schools are required to pay the applicable late fees and fines to complete the enrollment or correction process on the portal.

The Board has maintained a strict stance regarding administrative lapses. Previously, in December 2025, when a similar window was opened for unsuccessful candidates, schools were directed to pay fines up to ₹5,000 per student. In this latest notification, the WBBSE has reiterated that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against schools found guilty of negligence.

Schools have been instructed to collect the revised Admit Cards from the Board’s camp offices on January 29 after completing the necessary formalities.

This is a critical update for Madhyamik 2026 aspirants. Since the window is open for only one day, guardians and students who are facing issues with their enrollment or admit cards are advised to contact their school authorities immediately to ensure all corrections are made within the deadline.
