South 24 Parganas Recruitment: Significant news has emerged for aspiring teachers in the South 24 Parganas district. The District Primary School Council (DPSC) has officially announced the commencement of the recruitment process for primary teachers. Following the directive issued by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) on 16/01/2026, a total of 264 eligible and empaneled candidates have been recommended for the post of Assistant Teacher in government and government-aided junior basic schools.

The authorities have released a detailed schedule for counseling, where candidates will select their preferred schools and collect their appointment letters. This marks the final step in securing a government teaching position for these candidates.

Counseling Schedule and Venue Details

The entire counseling process is slated to take place at the office of the South 24 Parganas DPSC. To ensure a smooth and orderly process, the council has divided the 264 candidates into different slots over three days, based on their serial numbers in the merit list. Additionally, a reserve day has been kept for special cases. Candidates are instructed to report by 12:00 PM on their respective dates.

Mandatory Documents for Verification

Candidates must be extremely careful regarding their documentation. On the day of counseling, carrying the Original copies along with two sets of self-attested photocopies of the following documents is mandatory:

• TET Credentials: TET Admit Card and TET Result/Certificate.
• Academic Proofs: Madhyamik (10th) Admit Card (crucial for age verification), Mark sheet, and Certificate. Higher Secondary (12th) Mark sheet.
• Professional Training: Mark sheet and Certificate of the D.El.Ed course.
• Identity Proof: Voter ID Card or Aadhaar Card.
• Category Certificates: Valid Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC), PH Certificate, or Exempted Category/Extra-Curricular Activity certificate, if applicable.
• Photographs: Two recent passport-sized color photographs.

Strict Guidelines on Attendance and Candidature

The DPSC has laid down strict rules regarding attendance to ensure the timeline is met.

• Reserve Day Policy: If a candidate fails to attend on their scheduled date due to a valid reason, they will be given a final opportunity on the Reserve Day (02/02/2026).
• Cancellation of Job: If a candidate remains absent even on the Reserve Day, no further chances will be provided. In such cases, their candidature will be treated as cancelled, implying they have forfeited the job offer.

Upon verification of documents, candidates will proceed to select their school based on available vacancies and receive their appointment letters immediately. Aspiring teachers are advised to organize their documents well in advance to avoid last-minute hassles.
