Banglar Bari Payment: Received 60000 Rupees? Check Banglar Bari Scheme Payment Status Now
Banglar Bari Payment: This is excellent news for the residents of West Bengal. The State Government has initiated the process of disbursing funds under the ‘Banglar Bari’ scheme to support homeless individuals and owners of mud houses using its own resources. On January 28th, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee approved funds for 20 lakh beneficiaries under this scheme. For those still waiting for the money or facing payment-related complications, here are the detailed updates.
Grant Amount and Timeline
Although funds for housing schemes were withheld by the Central Government, the State Government is fulfilling the dream of building houses for beneficiaries from its own treasury. A total of ₹1,20,000 will be provided under this scheme.
- First Installment: In the first phase, ₹60,000 is being credited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
- Timeline: The fund release was announced on January 28th, and the money is expected to reach accounts within the next 7 days. There might be a slight delay due to Sundays or holidays as the Treasury remains closed, but the amount should be credited within a week.
- SMS Notification: An SMS is being sent to beneficiaries on behalf of the state government, assuring them that this assistance is being provided entirely from the state’s own funds.
Reasons for Payment Failure and Solutions
Many beneficiaries are receiving messages on their phones stating that the payment of ₹60,000 has failed (Payment Failed). While this is a matter of concern, there is a solution. This is mainly happening due to two reasons:
- Incorrect Information: If the wrong bank account number or branch name was provided in the application.
- IFSC Issues: Recently, many banks have merged. As a result, old IFSC codes have changed, and many beneficiaries haven’t updated this information in the system.
Solution: If your payment has failed, do not panic. Immediately visit your local Block Development Office (BDO) with your updated bank passbook. Once the correct information is submitted, the money will be re-sent to your account.
Status of ‘Sorasori Mukhyomantri’ Helpline and New Applications
Among those who had previously applied for the housing scheme by calling the “Sorasori Mukhyomantri” (Direct to Chief Minister) helpline, 4 lakh eligible beneficiaries have been paid in this phase. A total of about 15 lakh applications were received via the helpline. The data of the remaining applicants is currently under verification.
- Verification Process: The details of the remaining applicants are being verified by the BDO office and sent to the District and Nabanna (State Secretariat).
- Next Phase: The Chief Minister has assured that once the survey is completed, the remaining eligible applicants will receive money in the subsequent phase.
How to Apply for a New House?
Currently, new applications are not being accepted through queues at BDO offices or Panchayats. The only open channel for new applications is the “Sorasori Mukhyomantri” helpline.
- You need to call the helpline number and clearly state your name, address, village, Panchayat, and District name.
- Once your grievance or claim is registered, it will be forwarded to the respective BDO office, and subsequently, government officials will visit your home for a physical survey or verification.
Those who haven’t received the money yet are advised to wait for at least 7 days. However, if there is a payment failure message, it is best to contact the BDO office immediately.
