WBSSC Recruitment: WBSSC Bars 2016 Tainted Candidates from 2025 Recruitment Process
WBSSC Recruitment: The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has taken a decisive and unprecedented step to maintain transparency in the ongoing recruitment drive. Candidates who were identified as ‘tainted’ or had secured jobs through illegal means during the 2016 recruitment process have been barred from participating in the 2025 recruitment exam. In a notification issued on February 13, 2026, the Commission made it clear that these individuals would not be given a second chance.
Technology-Driven Verification Process
According to Commission sources, a sophisticated “System Based Check” was employed to scrutinize the new applications. The database of candidates flagged as illegal or tainted in the 2016 recruitment (1st SLST and 3rd RLST) was cross-verified with the list of applicants for the 2025 process (2nd SLST/NTS). This digital scrutiny revealed that many of these previously tainted candidates had applied again. Their candidatures were immediately identified and rejected by the system.
Rejection Statistics and Reasons
The data published by the Commission shows a significant number of rejections in both Group C and Group D categories. The rejection list includes the Application ID, Name, and the 2016 Roll Number of the candidates. The specific reason for cancellation has been cited as: “Rejection being tainted candidate in respect of 3rd RLST 2016 (NT)”.
The breakdown of rejected candidates is as follows:
- Group D (Group D Staff): A total of 288 applications have been rejected.
- Group C (Clerks): A total of 256 candidates have been barred.
In total, 544 candidates who were involved in previous irregularities have been blocked from the current exam.
Admit Card and Future Warnings
The Commission has firmly stated that no admit cards will be issued to these rejected candidates. Even if an admit card is generated inadvertently due to a technical glitch, it will be treated as invalid, and the candidate will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
Furthermore, the WBSSC has reserved the right to cancel the candidature of any applicant at any stage of the recruitment process if they are found to be linked to the 2016 irregularities during future verifications. This move is being seen as a strong message against corruption in the state’s recruitment system.
