Yubasathi Scheme: The West Bengal government has introduced significant updates to the application process for the ‘Yubasathi Scheme’ for the year 2026. In a move to streamline the process and aid job seekers, the administration has now enabled an online application facility alongside the traditional camp-based method. This initiative aims to reduce queues and ensure a smoother registration experience for applicants across the state.

Digital vs. Traditional: Why Go Online?

While both modes of application are currently active, the guidelines highlight distinct advantages of the online process over the offline method:

• Instant Acknowledgement: Applicants submitting forms online receive an immediate receipt copy and a Duare Sarkar registration number. In contrast, offline applicants must physically visit a camp and submit the form to generate this number.
• Safety and Convenience: The digital route eliminates the risk of physical documents getting lost—a concern often associated with paper forms. Additionally, it saves applicants from standing in long queues, allowing them to apply from home or cyber cafes.

Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit

To be eligible for the Yubasathi Scheme, the applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal. As per the official notification, the applicant’s age must be between 21 and 40 years as of April 1, 2026.
It is mandatory for the applicant to be unemployed. Individuals receiving any other government allowance (excluding educational scholarships) are not eligible. The administration has warned that strict legal action will be taken if any candidate provides false information to secure benefits.

Step-by-Step Online Application Process

For those opting for the digital route, the process involves the following key steps on the official website:

1. Registration: Verify identity using a mobile number and OTP. Enter the name exactly as it appears on the Madhyamik admit card, along with the Aadhar number.
2. Personal Details: Select the correct date of birth from the calendar. Fill in details regarding parents or spouse, and select the appropriate caste category (SC/ST/OBC details must be provided if applicable).
3. Address & Education: Accurately select the full address including district, block, and police station from the dropdown menu. Educational details, including the board, passing year, roll number of the Madhyamik examination, and current occupation (e.g., Student, Self-employed), must be entered.
4. Uploads: Provide Aadhar-linked bank account details. Upload a photograph and signature (within 1 MB) and other documents in PDF format (within 2 MB).

Guidelines for Offline Application

Applicants choosing to apply offline must fill out the form using Capital Letters with black or blue ink.

• Photo & Signature: A colored passport-sized photograph must be affixed with a ‘Cross Signature’ over it.
• Registration Number: The registration number obtained from the Duare Sarkar camp must be written in the designated box.
• Occupation Field: The guidelines specify that applicants should not write “Not Employed” in the occupation column; instead, they should truthfully mention their current engagement, such as private tuition or small business.

For both online and offline applications, self-attested copies of the following documents are mandatory:

• Madhyamik Admit Card (as proof of age).
