West Bengal Yogyasree Scheme: Free Coaching For JEE NEET With Monthly Stipend

Yogyasree Scheme: The West Bengal government has taken a significant step to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder the academic aspirations of meritorious students. Often, talented students dream of becoming doctors or engineers but are forced to give up due to a lack of funds and proper guidance. To address this issue, the state administration has rolled out the ‘Yogyasree Scheme’ to support such ambitious learners.

Target Audience and Scope

This initiative is specifically designed for students aiming to crack national and state-level competitive exams. The scheme focuses on candidates preparing for the NEET, JEE, or WBJEE exams scheduled for 2027. Under this program, selected students will receive comprehensive training completely free of cost.
Currently, the project has been launched exclusively for students in the Purba Medinipur district, with training facilities arranged at seven centers across the district. There is an expectation that the scheme will be expanded to other districts in the near future.

Financial Incentives for Students

Beyond free coaching, the government is also providing financial aid to cover incidental expenses like travel. The benefits include:

  • A total stipend of ₹3,000 provided over a period of 10 months.
  • This financial aid is linked to attendance. Students will receive ₹300 per month based on their regular presence in the coaching classes.

Training Schedule and Logistics

To ensure that regular schooling is not affected, the coaching classes have been scheduled on weekends.

  • Days: Every Saturday and Sunday.
  • Duration: Each session will last for 4 hours.
  • Frequency: Classes will be held approximately 8 days a month for a total duration of 10 months.

Eligibility and Application Process

To avail of the benefits of the Yogyasree Scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. The annual family income must be less than ₹3 Lakh.
  2. The student must currently be a resident of Purba Medinipur district.

How to Apply:
Interested candidates can apply through two modes:

  • Online: By visiting the designated government website.
  • Offline: By submitting physical forms at designated centers.

This scheme is seen as a major boost for economically weaker students, bringing them one step closer to their professional dreams.
