WBSSC Exam Rules: WBSSC Group C and D Exam Strict Guidelines Regarding Dress Code and Forbidden Items
WBSSC Exam Rules: The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has implemented unprecedented security measures for the upcoming recruitment examinations. With approximately 17 lakh candidates competing for over 8,000 vacancies, the commission has issued a set of strict guidelines to ensure a smooth and transparent process. Significant changes have been made, particularly regarding the dress code and rules for entering the examination centers.
Reason Behind the Strict Measures
In recent times, several incidents of malpractice in competitive exams have come to light. Investigations revealed that candidates often attempted to smuggle small electronic gadgets like mobile phones or Bluetooth devices hidden inside their shoes. To counter such modern cheating methods and considering the logistical challenges of police frisking at every center, these precautionary rules have been introduced. The commission’s primary goal is to ensure recruitment based solely on merit.
New Dress Code for Candidates
The most crucial rule that all candidates must adhere to concerns footwear. The commission has made it clear:
- Ban on Boots and Covered Shoes: No candidate, male or female, will be allowed to enter the exam center wearing boots or shoes that completely cover the feet.
- Open Sandals Mandatory: Candidates must wear ‘Hawai chappals’ or open sandals where the feet are clearly visible. This step is to ensure that nothing is concealed inside the footwear.
Allowed and Prohibited Items
Apart from the footwear rule, there are strict restrictions on the items candidates can carry:
- Transparent Pens and Bottles: The pen used for writing must have a transparent body so that the refill is visible. Similarly, if a candidate wishes to carry a water bottle, it must be completely transparent.
- Electronics and Jewelry: Mobile phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited. Additionally, candidates are not allowed to wear any jewelry inside the examination hall.
Exam Schedule at a Glance
This massive recruitment drive across the state will be conducted in two phases. The dates are as follows:
- Group C Exam: Scheduled for March 1st.
- Group D Exam: Scheduled for March 8th.
With a total of 8,474 vacancies, it is mandatory for every candidate to follow these WBSSC guidelines. Failure to comply may lead to complications during entry into the examination center.
