WBIFMS Portal Error Hits e-Service Book Update State Govt Employees Demand Extension
WBIFMS Portal Error: March is synonymous with the extreme rush of the financial year-end in government offices. Right amidst this immense workload, a severe server issue on the WBIFMS portal has caused major concerns for the state government employees of West Bengal. On one hand, there is a strict directive from the Finance Department, and on the other, a significant technological hurdle.
Portal Glitches and Employee Harassment
This specific portal is the primary medium for all financial and service-related operations for state government employees. However, accessing the website has currently become a nightmare.
- Users are repeatedly encountering error messages like ‘503 Service Unavailable’ or sometimes ‘404 Page not found’ on their screens.
- Due to this ongoing server deadlock, the normal functioning of government offices is severely disrupted.
- Despite the mountain of March closing tasks, important official operations cannot be completed due to the poor state of the website.
Directive for e-Service Book Preparation
Recently, the Finance Department of the Government of West Bengal issued a highly crucial directive. According to this order, the preparation of e-Service Books for all government employees must be completed by the 20th of this month. This process involves two main steps:
- Role of Officials: The Service Book custodian or the designated officer of the respective department must upload the scanned copy of the physical service book onto the portal.
- Role of Employees: By referring to the uploaded scanned copy, every government employee is required to accurately fill in all the details of their e-Service Book online.
Demand for Deadline Extension
Even though there is a strong willingness to finish the task within the timeframe set by the Finance Department, the server outage has made it practically impossible. The workload is already doubled due to the financial year-end, and the inaccessible portal is adding to the frustration among employees. Given this situation, strong demands are emerging from various quarters to extend the deadline for uploading and filling out the e-Service Books. Employees believe that if the portal does not stabilize quickly, completing the entire process within the stipulated date is practically unrealistic.
