Stakeholders have been granted additional time to share their views and suggestions regarding the policy framing of the 8th Pay Commission. The deadline to submit recommendations on what the future salary structures and benefits should look like has been officially extended.
New Deadline and Application Process
Previously, the last date to submit feedback was March 16. However, this has now been extended by 15 days, allowing submissions until March 31, 2026. It is crucial to note that the entire process must be completed online exclusively through the ‘MyGov’ portal. The Commission will not accept any offline proposals, including paper-based physical responses, emails, or PDFs. Eligible individuals can answer the 18-point questionnaire by logging into the designated portal using their mobile number or email ID and an OTP.
Who Can Submit Their Views?
Specific individuals and organizations are permitted to participate in this special survey by the 8th Pay Commission. The prominent groups include:
- Employees working across various Ministries, Departments, and Union Territories.
- Judicial officers and court employees.
- Associations or unions of serving or retired employees and pensioners.
- Researchers, academicians, and authorized nodal officers of ministries.

Commission Formation and Future Roadmap
Formed under the initiative of the Central Government, the 8th Pay Commission is chaired by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, accompanied by committee members Prof. Pulak Ghosh and Pankaj Jain. The committee has been instructed to submit its final report within a timeframe of 18 months. Following the standard 10-year revision cycle, the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission are expected to be implemented nationwide starting January 1, 2026.
