However, for biometric updates like fingerprints, iris scans, or photographs, you will need to visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra and pay the applicable fee.
How to Update Your Aadhaar Online?
Follow the steps below to update your Aadhaar card information online for free:
- Go to the myAadhaar Portal: First, visit the official UIDAI website at
https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/. - Log In: Log in using your 12-digit Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
- Select “Document Update”: After logging in, select the “Document Update” option.
- Verify Information: Your current details will be displayed on the screen. If everything is correct, click on the “I verify that the above details are correct” option.
- Upload Documents:
- Proof of Identity (PoI): Scan and upload your proof of identity (e.g., PAN card, voter ID card, passport).
- Proof of Address (PoA): Scan and upload your proof of address (e.g., electricity bill, water bill, ration card).
- Submit: After uploading the necessary documents, submit your request. You will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) which you can use to track the status of your update.
Once the update request is approved, your Aadhaar card information will be updated, and you can download a new Aadhaar card.
