Big News About Janmashtami Holiday! New Holiday Announced, But Not for Everyone

Janmashtami Holiday: Here is some big news for the students and teachers of Birbhum district. The District Primary School Council (DPSC), Birbhum, has announced a significant change in the holiday list for the year 2025. The Janmashtami holiday, which was initially scheduled for August 15, 2025, has been changed to August 16, 2025. This decision has been made to correct a previous error in the holiday list.

Reason for the Change

Many were confused after the initial holiday list was published, where Janmashtami was shown on Independence Day, i.e., August 15. This sparked a lot of discussion among teachers and guardians. The Birbhum DPSC has now clarified the matter. According to various almanacs, the holy festival of Janmashtami in 2025 falls on Saturday, August 16. The DPSC has made this correction to align with the correct date of the festival.

What About Other Districts and Boards?

It is believed that Birbhum DPSC was not the only one to make this initial mistake. Several other DPSCs and even the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education had also marked August 15 as the Janmashtami holiday. Now that the Birbhum DPSC has taken the lead in correcting this error, it is expected that other districts and the Board of Secondary Education will also revise their holiday lists.

We will keep an eye on updates from other DPSCs and the Board of Secondary Education and bring you the latest information as soon as it is available. Students, guardians, and teachers are advised to stay in touch with their respective school authorities for final confirmation of the holiday list.
