According to the meteorological department, this cyclone is moving towards the coast with immense force and is expected to intensify into a Severe Cyclonic Storm by Tuesday. It is feared to make landfall at a speed of approximately 110 km/h, which is likely to cause storms and rainfall in almost all districts of West Bengal.

As per sources from the weather department, this system is likely to become a severe cyclonic storm by the morning of the 28th. It is expected to cross the coastal region, particularly the coast of Andhra Pradesh, as a severe cyclonic storm.

Although Cyclone Mantha may not make a direct hit on West Bengal, its influence will create turbulent weather conditions in the state. From Monday to Thursday, there is a strong possibility of thunderstorms and rain across the districts of South Bengal. The sea and rivers will remain rough during this period. Gusty winds at speeds of 30 to 50 km/h may blow through the coastal areas, especially in East Medinipur and South 24 Parganas.

- From Wednesday: The intensity of rainfall will increase in coastal districts. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in all districts of South Bengal.
- Wednesday & Thursday: Kolkata may receive several spells of rain.
- North Bengal: The impact of the cyclone might reach North Bengal around the 30th and 31st. Rainfall is likely in almost all districts of North Bengal on these two days.
A special heavy rainfall warning has been issued for South 24 Parganas and East Medinipur districts on the 28th. The amount of rainfall is expected to increase in other districts of West Bengal from the 29th.
