DA Case Update: The hearing of the Dearness Allowance (DA) case has finally concluded in the Supreme Court. Now, only the verdict is awaited. In a press conference, the Sangrami Joutha Mancha presented the latest situation of the case. On behalf of the platform, Bhaskar Ghosh and other leaders gave detailed information on this matter.

Current Status of the Case
The long-awaited hearing of the DA case in the Supreme Court has ended, and the judgment has been reserved. The government side has been given two weeks to submit their written arguments. After that, the employees’ side will submit their rejoinder within seven days, meaning it will take a total of three weeks.
Probable Date of Verdict
Due to the Durga Puja holidays, the court is expected to reopen around October 8th. The verdict of this case may be announced after that.
Role and Gratitude of Sangrami Joutha Mancha
Sangrami Joutha Mancha joined this case six months ago. Their two main objectives were:
- Speedy disposal of the case: Since the case dates were being set at intervals of four to six months, the platform became active for a speedy disposal.
- Strengthening the legal battle: To ensure the appointment of high-quality lawyers to counter the strong lawyers of the government side.
The Mancha thanked all the employees and teachers of the state for their support. Besides, gratitude was also expressed to the three organizations that first filed this case. Special thanks were also given to lawyer Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, who fought the case from SAT to the High Court and Supreme Court almost free of charge. The Leader of the Opposition in the state was thanked for appointing lawyer Patwalia for the employees’ side.
The Mancha is Confident about Victory
Sangrami Joutha Mancha is very confident about the victory. The lawyers of the platform have strongly presented their arguments, refuting the arguments of the government lawyer Kapil Sibal. According to the platform, this case will set an example not only for West Bengal but also for the government employees of the entire country, because this is the first time that a DA case of the entire government employees of a state has reached the Supreme Court. The employees’ side has already won this case in the SAT and the Division Bench of the High Court, and it is expected that this winning streak will continue in the Supreme Court as well.
