Various Accommodation Options at Howrah Station

Howrah Station primarily has two complexes – Old and New. Both complexes are equipped with different types of accommodation for passenger convenience.

1. Executive Lounge (Old Complex)

This modern lounge is located directly opposite Platform 12 and to the right of the Food Plaza in the Old Complex.

  • Sitting Charge: ₹50 per hour per person.
  • Room Rent (for 12 hours):
    • Double Bedroom (2 persons): ₹1456 (including AC and GST).
    • For 3 persons: ₹1904.
  • Dormitory (Bed) Charge:
    • For 4 hours: ₹448.
    • For 8 hours: ₹784.
    • For 12 hours: ₹1008.
  • Facilities: It offers AC, TV, geyser, attached bathroom, and access to a food court.
  • Booking Process: On-the-spot booking is available for seats. For rooms, you need to book by phone at least 8 hours in advance (Number: 75969505).

2. AC Upper Class Waiting Hall

This waiting hall can be reached by taking the stairs or lift to the first floor, located just opposite Platform 10.

  • Entry Fee: ₹10 per hour + 12% GST.
  • Facilities: It provides comfortable seating, food stalls, and paid bathing and washroom facilities. There are separate seating arrangements for men and women.
  • Booking Process: There is no online booking; tickets must be purchased directly from the counter.

3. Sleeper Class Waiting Hall

Located on the first floor, opposite Platforms 6 and 7.

  • Entry Fee: Completely free of charge, but you must have a valid Sleeper Class ticket.
  • Facilities: Ample seating space and a separate washroom for women are available.

4. Retiring Room (Old Complex)

The Retiring Room can be accessed via the lift or stairs near Platforms 1 and 2.

  • Current Status: According to the provided information (July 2025), booking is temporarily suspended due to maintenance work.
  • Booking Process: It is usually booked online through the IRCTC website or app.

5. IRCTC Rail Yatri Niwas (New Complex)

This facility is a short walk from the Old Complex into the New Complex.

  • Booking Process: Spot booking is done here. To book, you must show confirmed tickets for both your arrival and departure journeys. The fare chart is displayed at the reception.

6. Executive Lounge (New Complex)

This lounge is situated directly opposite the taxi stand in the New Complex.

  • Sitting Charge: ₹50 per hour. A conference room is also available for ₹500.
  • Dormitory Rent: Same as the Old Complex (₹448 for 4 hours, ₹784 for 8 hours, ₹1008 for 12 hours).
  • Facilities: AC double bedrooms, TV, intercom, wardrobe, and clean western toilets.
  • Booking Process: A PNR number is mandatory for booking. You can book directly at the reception or via phone (Number: 86747845).
