IndiGo Refund Process: Relief for IndiGo Passengers Easy Process and Rules to Get Refund for Cancelled Flights
IndiGo Refund Process: The ongoing disruptions in the country’s aviation services have caused severe distress to passengers for several days. Even on the sixth consecutive day, operations of IndiGo Airlines, India’s largest carrier, have not fully normalized, leading to growing frustration among travelers. As of Sunday, December 7, the airline was forced to cancel approximately 650 flights. Caught between flight cancellations and skyrocketing airfares, passengers are facing a harrowing time. However, in an effort to reassure travelers during this crisis, IndiGo has announced a comprehensive refund policy.
In compliance with DGCA regulations and to assist affected passengers, the airline has declared that those with tickets within a specific timeframe whose flights were cancelled will receive a full refund. But how can you apply? What are the rules? Here are the detailed guidelines.
Refund Eligibility and Timeline
IndiGo authorities have stated that efforts are being made to gradually stabilize the situation. However, passengers whose travel dates fell between December 5, 2025, and December 15, 2025, and whose flights were either cancelled or rescheduled, are eligible for a full refund of their ticket amount.
According to Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) rules, if a flight is cancelled or delayed due to the airline’s fault, passengers are entitled to a refund or the option to rebook their tickets without extra charges.

The government has directed that all pending luggage must be delivered within the next two days.
IndiGo claims that the situation is moving towards normalcy. In a statement, the airline mentioned that 137 out of its 138 stations are now operating at full capacity.
