Krishak Bandhu Status: Money Not Received? Know Treasury Release Rules And Status Check Method

Krishak Bandhu Status: The wait is finally over for lakhs of farmers across West Bengal as the state government has officially released the grant for the Krishak Bandhu scheme for the Rabi season of 2026. The disbursement process commenced on January 8, 2026. While this installment is typically released in December each year, administrative reasons pushed the schedule to January this time. However, despite the official announcement of the fund release, numerous farmers from various districts have reported that they are yet to receive any SMS notification or credit in their bank accounts. Before panicking, it is essential to understand the technical nuances of how this scheme works compared to others.

Why Isn’t Everyone Receiving Money Simultaneously?

A common confusion arises when beneficiaries compare the Krishak Bandhu scheme with the central government’s PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. It is crucial to note that the fund disbursement mechanisms for these two schemes are fundamentally different:

  • PM Kisan: This operates on a centralized Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. When the funds are released, they are dispatched to crores of farmers across India almost simultaneously in real-time.
  • Krishak Bandhu: The fund distribution for this state scheme is decentralized and operates through District Treasuries. When the state government announces the release, the instruction goes to the respective treasuries of each district. Each treasury then processes the files and sends them to the banks at their own pace.

Because the funds are routed through district treasuries rather than a single central switch, a farmer in one district might receive the money today, while a farmer in a neighboring district might have to wait for 2-3 days or even a week. Generally, it takes about a week from the release date for all beneficiaries to receive the funds.

How to Check Your Payment Status?

If the money has not yet been credited to your account, there is no need to rush to the bank immediately. You can verify your current status from your mobile phone by following these simple steps:

  1. Visit the official website of the Krishak Bandhu scheme.
  2. Click on the option labeled ‘Registered Farmer Information’ on the homepage.
  3. Choose your preferred search method: Voter ID (EPIC), Aadhaar Card, or Bank Account Number. Using the Voter ID is usually the most convenient method.
  4. Enter the number in the designated field, verify the ‘I am not a robot’ captcha, and click on the ‘Search’ button.

Understanding the ‘Account Valid’ Status

Once the search results appear, pay close attention to the ‘Transaction Status’ column.

  • If it says ‘Account Valid’: You can be rest assured. This status confirms that your documentation and bank details are correct. It implies a 100% guarantee that the funds will be credited to your account. If it hasn’t arrived today, it will certainly reflect within the next few days.
  • If it shows any other status: If you see an error message or anything other than ‘Account Valid’, there might be an issue with your records. In such cases, contacting the local agriculture department office is deeper advisable.

For those who received payments in the previous Kharif season and currently see the ‘Account Valid’ status, there is no cause for concern. Keep checking your bank balance periodically.
