Major Changes in West Bengal Class 11 Exams! Council Hands Over Responsibility to Schools

West Bengal Class 11 Exams: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has issued an important notification regarding the Class 11 Semester 1 Examination for the year 2025. These new regulations introduce several changes for schools and students, which will impact their examination preparation and management.
Key Highlights of the New Examination System
According to the notification signed by Prof. (Dr.) Chiranjib Bhattacharjee, President of the W.B. Council of H.S. Education, the Class 11 Semester 1 examination will be held in September 2025. However, the most significant change this year is in the method of conducting the examination.
New Responsibilities for Schools
The biggest change is that the entire responsibility of conducting the examination has been handed over to the schools. This means:
- Question Paper Preparation: Each school will prepare its own question papers with the help of its subject teachers. Purchasing question papers from any outside organization or agency is strictly prohibited.
- Examination Routine: The Council will not provide a specific examination routine. Each school will create its own schedule according to its convenience.
- Evaluation and Result Declaration: The responsibility of evaluating the answer scripts and declaring the results also lies with the respective schools.
This change will give schools the freedom to organize the examination based on their students’ academic pace and preparation.
Advice for Students
- Since each school will be setting its own question papers, students should pay close attention to the teaching methods of their respective school teachers.
- It is crucial to study the textbooks thoroughly and have a clear understanding of every subject.
- Keep an eye on announcements from your school, as the examination routine and other vital information will be provided by the school itself.
These new regulations make the Class 11 examination system more decentralized and school-centric, which will be a new experience for the students.
