Morning Primary School: Schedule Change for Primary Schools Due to Higher Secondary Examination

Morning Primary School: The West Bengal Board of Primary Education has recently issued a new notification, superseding a previous directive regarding the schedule of primary schools during the Higher Secondary Examination. This new guideline applies to all primary schools located on the same premises as high schools being used as centers for the Higher Secondary Examination. It is crucial for teachers to understand these new rules, as they will bring a temporary but significant change to the daily operations of the schools. The reason for canceling the previous notification and issuing this new one is to keep school lessons as normal as possible during the examination period and to avoid any loss of learning for the students. This directive has been communicated to all primary school headmasters and other teachers so that they can take the necessary actions in time.
Key Points of the New Schedule
According to the new notification, some important changes have been made to the primary school schedule on the days of the Higher Secondary Examination. These changes are mainly divided into two categories: for schools that are examination centers and for those that are not. The rules are detailed below:
- Schools at Examination Centers: Primary schools located on the same premises as high schools used as centers for the Higher Secondary Examination have had their schedules changed. These schools will have to conduct classes from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM on the examination days. This will include the mid-day meal. This applies to all such schools, whether they normally operate in the day shift or the morning shift.
- Regular Schools: Primary schools that are not associated with or located on the same premises as a Higher Secondary Examination center will have no change in their schedule. These schools will continue to operate according to their normal morning or day shifts.
Guidelines for Teachers
As a result of this new rule, teachers in the primary schools that have to switch to the morning shift will need to arrive at school very early. It is essential to inform students and guardians correctly about this new schedule. Headmasters must ensure that the mid-day meal arrangements are managed properly and that students do not face any inconvenience. This temporary change is applicable only for the days of the Higher Secondary Examination, and schools will return to their normal schedule after the exams are over. The Board’s decision is a commendable effort to maintain the continuity of students’ education.
