New IndiGo Baggage Rules 2025: Starting from May 2nd, 2025, IndiGo Airlines is set to introduce some significant changes to its baggage policy. If you are planning to travel with IndiGo, it is crucial to be aware of these new rules. New Rules for Hand Baggage

According to the new rules from IndiGo Airlines, economy class passengers will now be allowed to carry only one piece of hand baggage. Let’s get into the details:

• Weight and Quantity: The maximum weight for hand baggage must be 7 kg, and passengers can only carry one piece of hand or cabin luggage. Anything extra will need to be sent to check-in luggage.
• Dimensions: Strict rules have also been implemented for the dimensions of hand baggage. The bag’s dimensions must not exceed 40 cm x 20 cm x 55 cm (length x width x height). In total, the combined dimensions of the bag must not exceed 115 cm. Your bag’s size may be checked at the airport, and if it does not meet the correct dimensions, you may have to check it in for an additional fee.

Additional Personal Item

The good news is that in addition to the 7 kg hand baggage, passengers can carry one additional personal item. However, there are some rules for this as well:

• Weight and Type: This additional item must not weigh more than 3 kg. It can include a ladies’ purse, a small laptop bag, an umbrella, or a coat.
• Total Weight: As a result, you can carry a total of (7+3) = 10 kg of items into the cabin. However, remember that you cannot pack this 10 kg into one bag; the hand baggage and personal item must be kept separate.

Rules for Carrying Liquids

The ‘3-1-1’ rule for carrying liquids in hand baggage will be strictly enforced.

• Each container for liquids must not exceed 100 ml.
• All containers must be placed in a transparent, resealable zip-lock bag.
• A passenger can carry a maximum of 1 litre of liquids in total.

Luggage Rules for Infants

Luggage rules have also been specified for traveling infants:

• Hand Baggage: An infant is allowed to carry one piece of hand baggage weighing up to 7 kg, with the same dimensions as an adult’s luggage (115 cm).
• Check-in Luggage: No check-in luggage is permitted for infants.
