The Shramashree app is primarily designed for migrant workers who are employed outside of West Bengal or India. Through this app, they can directly register themselves on the “Karmasathi Migrant Worker” portal and apply for various financial assistance under the Shramashree scheme. The biggest advantage of this app is that there is no longer a need for a computer or laptop; the entire process can be completed through a mobile phone.

Application Process

Follow the steps below to apply through the Shramashree app:

1. App Download and Installation:

  • First, download the app by clicking on the “Click Here to Download” link from the Karmasathi Migrant Worker website (https://karmasathips.wb.gov.in/).
  • Install the downloaded APK file on your mobile phone.

2. Registration:

  • Open the app and click on the “Register” button.
  • Enter your mobile number and click on “Generate OTP.”
  • Validate the OTP you receive.
  • Complete the registration process by providing your name, Aadhaar number, and guardian’s name.

3. Filling the Application Form:

  • Personal Information: Enter your emergency contact number, gender, religion, category, date of birth, ration card type and number, and voter card number.
  • Permanent Address: Write your district, subdivision, block, police station, pincode, and full address.
  • Workplace Details: If you work outside West Bengal but within India, select your state and police station of work. If you work outside India, provide the country name, work address, and passport number.
  • Work Information: Mention your type of work, the date you started working as a migrant, and your daily wage.
  • Employer Details: If you are self-employed, you do not need to provide employer details. Otherwise, provide the agent’s or company’s name, phone number, and address.
  • Bank Details: Enter your bank’s name, branch name, IFSC code, and account number.
  • Nominee Details: Provide the nominee’s name, relationship, Aadhaar number, and phone number.
  • Family Details: Add the names, gender, age, and Aadhaar numbers of your family members.
  • Document Upload: Upload your photo, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, voter ID, and registration details (in JPG or PDF format and under 500 KB).

4. Final Submission:

  • Review all the information and click on the “Final Submit” button.

Important Information

  • To receive the travel assistance of Rs 5000 under this scheme, the applicant must apply from outside of West Bengal.
