PM Kisan Big Update: 31 Lakh Farmers May Not Get 21st Installment! Check These 3 Critical Rules Now
PM Kisan Scheme: Millions of farmers across the country are eagerly awaiting the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) Yojana. However, ahead of the fund transfer, the central government has issued a significant update that could affect a large number of beneficiaries. If you are expecting this installment, this new information is crucial for you.
According to recent reports, a staggering 31 lakh farmers could be removed from the beneficiary list. It is believed that these individuals have been wrongfully receiving the annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 under the PM Kisan scheme. To tackle this, the government has initiated a large-scale verification process to identify and weed out ineligible farmers before the next installment is disbursed.
Crackdown on Ineligible Beneficiaries
This is not the first time such action has been taken. During the release of the 20th installment, payments to many farmers were suspended due to suspicious accounts and failure to meet the eligibility criteria. A similar situation is unfolding ahead of the 21st installment. The government is now taking strict measures to prevent irregularities and fraud within the scheme.
Farmers who fail to meet three key mandatory conditions are at high risk of having their names struck from the list.
Three Critical Conditions for Eligibility
To ensure you receive the upcoming installment, you must comply with the following three rules:
- One Beneficiary Per Family: The scheme’s benefits are limited to one member per farmer family. If both a husband and wife are found to be receiving payments, one of them will be disqualified. It has been reported that approximately 31.01 lakh names have been identified where both spouses are registered as beneficiaries.
- Age Requirement of 18 or Above: The PM Kisan scheme is exclusively for adult farmers. Therefore, any account registered in the name of a minor (below 18 years of age) will be deactivated. The verification process has found around 1.76 lakh accounts where scheme funds were being transferred to minors.
- Land Ownership Date: The scheme has a specific cut-off date for land ownership. Farmers who purchased agricultural land after February 1, 2019, are not eligible to receive benefits under this yojana. Based on this condition alone, more than 8 lakh farmers could be deemed ineligible and removed from the list.
