Reforms of Group Insurance cum Savings Scheme (GISS)

giss table of benefit 2019
GISS

The State Government is considering reforms to the Group Insurance cum Savings Scheme (GISS) for its employees due to limitations in the current system. The reforms will shift the GISS model from Treasury to a subscriber-based one, similar to the GPF system, and include developing a new module in IFMS environment. This would enable real-time access for subscribers to their GISS statements, including balances and interest amounts. To implement these changes, a committee has been formed with various department representatives and will submit recommendations within three months. This move aims to bring transparency and efficiency to managing GISS for State Government employees.
