SLST Interview Documents: Received SLST Interview Call? Know the Complete List and Rules for Document Verification

SLST Interview Documents: The interview or personality test phase in the teacher recruitment process by the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) is a crucial milestone. Especially for the recruitment of teachers for classes XI-XII and IX-X, the document verification process poses a significant challenge for many aspirants. Often, deserving candidates face hurdles simply because they fail to present the correct documents at the right time. In this report, we will discuss the minute details of the documents required for SLST candidates so that you remain stress-free on the day of the interview.

Essential Original Documents for Verification

On the day of the interview, candidates must carry all original documents. It is advisable to maintain a specific sequence when organizing these documents, usually starting with the Madhyamik Admit Card. First and foremost, keep a Photo Identity Proof, such as an Aadhaar Card or Voter Card, to prove your identity and Indian citizenship. Next, the Madhyamik Admit Card is essential for age proof. Regarding educational qualifications, keep your Post Graduation or Master’s Degree marksheet and certificate handy. Those falling under reserved categories, especially EWS or other categories, must display a valid Caste or Class Certificate.

For proof of professional training, the B.Ed. degree marksheet and certificate are mandatory, but equally important is the NCTE Approval. This document proves that the college had NCTE approval for the specific session you attended. Additionally, do not forget to keep the Recommendation Letter received from the SSC in your file.

Guidelines for In-Service Teachers

For those who are already teaching in schools or fall under the ‘In-Service’ category, some additional paperwork is required beyond the standard documents. First, keep the relevant Approval Letter from the DI (District Inspector of Schools) in your collection. Along with this, the Release Order or LPC (Last Pay Certificate) will be required. If you have taken a transfer during your service life, showing the Transfer Order copy is mandatory; otherwise, your full experience tenure might not be counted. To prove whether the post you held was permanent or temporary, keep the Substantive Post Document and the latest month’s Pay Slip. Remember, to claim the 10 marks allocated for experience, the Experience Certificate must be accurate.

Organizing Photocopies and Files

It is wise to keep at least two sets of photocopies (Xerox) for every document, not just the originals. The photocopies should also be arranged in the same order as the original documents. Along with this, keep two copies of the Intimation Letter issued by WBSSC and the filled Application Form. A special tip: for those interviewing for the 9th-10th level, if your Master’s degree marks are higher than your Graduation marks, it is better to present the Master’s marksheet. Do not forget to ‘Self-Attest’ all photocopies by signing and dating them yourself.

Intimation Letter and Final Tips

The Intimation Letter is essentially your pass for the interview sent by the Commission. It contains your name, the date and time of the interview, and the venue address. Ensure a day before the interview that the original documents and photocopy sets are neatly organized in separate folders. This creates a positive impression on the interview board and eliminates the fear of losing papers in a rush. If any document is missing or lost, take immediate steps to retrieve it without waiting for the last moment.
