SSC XI-XII Interview List Finally Releasing Today! Fate of Terminated Teachers to be Decided Today, Vacancies Also Reduced
SLST Interview List: The long wait for teacher candidates of the West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) for classes XI and XII is about to end. According to commission sources, the complete interview list for higher secondary level teacher posts will be published today, Saturday evening. The commission typically releases results or lists in the evening, so candidates are expected to be able to view the list today itself.
This list is not only crucial for new applicants but also holds immense significance for the teachers who lost their jobs from the cancelled 2016 panel.
Verification and Interview Process
As per sources, the document verification process for candidates whose names appear on the list may begin from the upcoming Tuesday, 18th November. For this interview process, candidates will be called in a 1:1.6 ratio relative to the number of vacancies. Based on this calculation, it is estimated that the names of approximately 20,000 candidates could be on this list. This is the next critical step for those who have passed the written examination.
Basis of Merit List Preparation
On 7th November, the results of the 60-mark written test for classes XI-XII were published, where candidates only got to know their individual scores. Today’s interview list is not being prepared solely based on written test marks. Two other factors have been added to it:
- Academic Qualification
- Teaching Experience – 10 marks
Notably, these 10 marks for teaching experience are being added even before the interview. As a result, teachers from the 2016 panel who lost their jobs and have reapplied will have a slight advantage over others due to their experience.
Deciding the Fate of Terminated Teachers
The publication of this list will clarify how many of the eligible teachers from the cancelled 2016 panel will secure a place on the new list and how many will be out of the competition. There is also a fear that several teachers, whose written exams did not go as expected, might be dropped from this panel.
For those terminated teachers whose names do not feature on this list and who did not appear for the class IX-X examination, their service tenure will end on 31st December of this year, creating a challenging situation for them.
New Update on Vacancies
In a significant development, it has been reported that the number of declared vacancies for the XI-XII level has been slightly reduced.
- Previous Vacancies: At the time of the exam in September, the total number of vacancies was 12,514.
- Revised Vacancies: With a reduction of 69 posts, the current total number of vacancies stands at 12,445.
However, no explanation has been provided by the commission regarding the reason for this reduction in vacancies.
How to Check the Result?
Candidates can check the list on the official website of the School Service Commission this evening. However, it is common to face issues accessing the website due to heavy server load immediately after the results are published. In such cases, candidates are advised to be patient and keep trying. It might be necessary to wait until the next day to view the list smoothly.
