SSC SLST Result: The long wait for job aspirants regarding the results of the State Level Selection Test (SLST) conducted by the West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) may soon come to an end. A crucial hearing related to this matter was recently held in the Supreme Court, where several important directives were issued concerning the future of the recruitment process and a potential timeline for publishing the results. This case was filed by ‘tainted’ candidates, which has significantly impacted the entire recruitment process.
On 29th October 2025, the case was heard in Court No. 9 of the Supreme Court. The bench, comprising Honourable Justice Sanjay Kumar and Honourable Justice Alok Adhar, heard the Special Leave Petition (SLP No. 46049, 2025), which was filed in connection with the Calcutta High Court’s case, ‘Vivek Paria vs. State of West Bengal’.
Key Directives from the Hearing
During the proceedings, the court issued several significant instructions that will shape the course of the recruitment process.
- Submission of Party List: The court has directed all parties involved in the case to submit an “Amended Memo of Parties” within two weeks from the date of the hearing.
- Adjournment Granted: A prayer for adjourning the case due to the personal difficulty of the senior counsel appearing for the SSC was accepted by the court.
- Urgent Hearing Plea Rejected: The lawyers for the petitioners (from the tainted category) had requested an urgent hearing on the 30th or 31st of October. They were seeking a clarification on paragraph 47 of the main SSC judgment. However, the court rejected this plea, stating that all connected matters would be heard together, and no separate orders would be passed.
