TET ,Wrong Question Case Mentioned in New Bench, Urgency Over Report Submission After 4 Months! When is the Hearing?
TET Question Error: A significant update has emerged from the Calcutta High Court regarding the TET 2017 and 2022 question error case. After a long delay, there is finally some momentum concerning the submission of the case report. The matter was mentioned in the new single bench of Justice Bibhas Pattanayak (Court No. 7), bringing a new ray of hope for the petitioners.
Today, Advocate Ali Hasan Alamgir, representing the petitioners, mentioned the case before Justice Pattanayak’s bench. He drew the court’s attention to the fact that the report, which was supposed to be submitted within three weeks, has still not been filed even after four months have passed. This delay has created uncertainty about the future of the case.
Why Was the Case Mentioned in a New Bench?
Previously, in the division bench led by Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty, the report could not be submitted due to a technical issue. The court had then allowed the report to be submitted to a single bench. However, as the case was not proceeding effectively in Justice Rajasree Bharadwaj’s bench, the petitioners were reluctant to move the case there. Finally, as the core matter came up before the new bench of Justice Bibhas Pattanayak, it was mentioned today to expedite the report submission process.
What Happened in Court
After Advocate Ali Hasan Alamgir mentioned the matter, the judge initially instructed him to serve a notice to the opposing party (the Board) before mentioning it again. The petitioners’ counsel agreed to return the next day after serving the notice.

Since the respondent’s lawyer was present in person, there was no need to serve a separate notice. The judge, after hearing both sides, accepted the mention.
Potential Outcomes of This Mention:
- Quick Hearing: As the case has been successfully mentioned, it is expected to be listed for hearing within the next two to three days.
- Report Submission: The issue of report submission is likely to be finalised in the upcoming hearing, which is crucial for the progress of this case.
This update is extremely significant for all the petitioners who have been waiting for a long time for employment opportunities. The submission of the report and the subsequent court verdict could determine the future of many job aspirants. Thousands of TET candidates will now be closely watching the developments in this case in the coming days.
