WBBSE Appointment: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has brought significant relief for many job aspirants. Following a directive from the Supreme Court, the process of distributing appointment letters to a total of 182 candidates, based on the recommendation of the West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC), is set to begin.

This entire process is being conducted based on the order in the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s Special Leave Petition (Civil) No. 9586 of 2024 (Baishakhi Bhattacharya (Chattopadhyay) vs. The State of West Bengal & Ors.). The Board had initially issued a notification on 07-11-2025 (Memo No: 321/Sec/Appt-Cell-B/25). Subsequently, a corrigendum was issued on 09-11-2025 (Memo No: Admin/1989), publishing the complete list of 182 recommended candidates, including their names, father’s names, posts, and districts.

When and Where Will the Appointment Letters Be Distributed?

According to the Board’s notification, candidates must be physically present to collect the hard copy of their appointment letters from the Board’s office in Salt Lake. The distribution has been scheduled on two separate days.

What Documents to Bring?

Candidates must be physically present on the specified date and time to collect their appointment letters. They are required to bring the original and self-attested copies of all the documents mentioned in the notification.

List of Required Documents:

  • Recommendation Letter from WBCSSC (Original, candidate’s copy).
  • Approval Letter from the concerned DI(S) (from the 2016 selection process).
  • Appointment Letter issued by the concerned school authority (from the pre-2016 selection process).
  • Approval Letter from the concerned DI(S) (related to the pre-2016 selection process).
  • Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Registration Certificate/ Admit Card of Madhyamik or equivalent examination).
  • Photo Identity Proof (EPIC/ Aadhaar Card/ PAN Card/ Driving License).
  • Marriage Certificate from a competent authority for female candidates (if applicable).
  • Two recent colour passport-size photographs.

The Board has strictly stated that failure to collect the appointment letter on the specified date and time will be treated as non-compliance, and the responsibility for this will lie entirely with the concerned candidate.
