WBBSE Registration: WBBSE Class IX Registration Final Opportunity for 2025 Students
WBBSE Registration: Significant news has emerged for students and authorities of all High Schools under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE). The Board has announced a final opportunity for students who were in Class IX during the 2025 academic session but could not complete their online registration within the stipulated time. The Board has made it clear that no further applications will be entertained after this deadline.
Final Registration Deadline and Portal Details
According to the notification (No: DS(C)/053/26) signed by WBBSE Secretary Subrata Ghosh on February 24, 2026, this special arrangement has been made keeping in mind the students who missed out.
- Portal Opening: February 25, 2026, from 11:00 AM.
- Portal Closing: March 7, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
Since this process is taking place well after the scheduled time, an admissible late fine will be applicable for registrations during this phase. The Board stated that this decision to reopen the portal for the third and final time is solely in the interest of the students to ensure their academic year is not wasted.
School Responsibility and Accountability
The notification issues strict directives to the Heads of Institutions. The Board has explicitly stated that if any ‘valid candidate’ remains unregistered after 4:00 PM on March 7, the entire liability and accountability for such non-registration will rest with the school authority. No excuses regarding this will be entertained in the future.
Who is considered a ‘Valid Candidate’?
As per Board rules, a student is considered valid only if:
- They have successfully progressed to the higher class (promoted) with adequate attendance.
- They have already taken admission in Class X.
- They have received textbooks from the school.
- They have paid the required school fees.
Background and Context
Previously, the registration process was conducted in two phases in 2025. The first phase concluded on August 30, and the second phase on September 13, 2025. During those periods, a total of 9,335 schools participated in the process. However, despite this, some students missed their registration for various reasons. This final window is provided to secure their future. Schools have been directed to complete this pending work with utmost urgency to avoid further hardship for the candidates.
