WBSSC: Clerk & Group-D Recruitment Notification Date Revealed, Special Marks for Experience

WBSSC: The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) is set to release a new recruitment notification for non-teaching staff posts, including Group-D and Clerk, soon. Following the Supreme Court’s directive, the commission is actively working to complete this recruitment process quickly. This is poised to be a major opportunity for job aspirants.

Key Highlights of the Recruitment Process

Several significant changes have been introduced in this new recruitment method. The main points are highlighted below for the convenience of the applicants:

  • Special Weightage for Experience: Similar to teacher recruitment, 10 marks have been allocated for experience in non-teaching staff posts as well. Candidates with prior work experience in schools will get this advantage. Two marks will be awarded for each year of experience.
  • Assurance of Quick Recruitment: According to sources in the School Education Department, the new rules and notification for this recruitment may be published as early as next week. This decision was reportedly made after a meeting with representatives of retrenched school staff.
  • Legal Complexities and Solutions: The state government has decided to provide an allowance to the retrenched school staff, although a case regarding this is ongoing in the High Court. However, according to officials, this case will not hinder the allowance payment, as the decision was made in accordance with the law.

The Plight of Retrenched Staff

The terminated school employees have appealed to the government to reinstate their jobs. According to them, securing a job again through re-examination will be difficult for many. Additionally, they have demanded the publication of a list of “tainted” and “untainted” staff to ensure that deserving candidates are not deprived.

This new recruitment process brings a ray of hope for many job seekers in the state. Applicants are advised to regularly check the official website of the West Bengal School Service Commission (www.westbengalssc.com) to get all application-related information on time.
