WBSSC Verification: Ninth-Tenth Teacher Recruitment Verification Postponed Again! When Will It Start? Commission Informed
WBSSC Verification: Bad news again for job aspirants waiting for the recruitment of 9th-10th grade teachers through the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC). Although the verification process was scheduled to start according to the commission’s pre-announced schedule, it has been postponed once more. Given the current situation, it is reported that starting this process in the current year, i.e., December 2025, is no longer possible.
Why Was the Verification Postponed?
Initially, the SSC had informed that the verification of documents for 9th-10th grade candidates would begin on December 26, 2025. Later, that date was changed to December 29. However, according to the commission’s recent update, this process has been pushed back again and is highly likely to start in January 2026. The main reasons for this delay are discussed below:
- Pending Work for 11th-12th Grade: As per court orders, the document verification process for approximately 200 candidates of the 11th-12th grade is still pending. The commission has planned to complete this process by the last week of December 2025.
- Time Required for Interview Process: After the verification of these 200 candidates is completed, their interviews must be conducted. Appointing experts for this task and completing the entire process is expected to take about 8 to 10 days.
Potential Impact on the Recruitment Process
It is considered virtually impossible to start the verification for the 9th-10th grade until this unfinished work for the 11th-12th grade is completed. This could have several impacts on the overall recruitment process:
- Delay in Publishing Merit List: The SSC had previously announced that the merit list for the 11th-12th grade would be published on January 7. However, in the current scenario, publishing the list on the scheduled date might be difficult.
- Counseling and Timeline: If the panel is published in the second week of January, counseling might start from the third week. If the 11th-12th grade process continues throughout January, confusion has arisen among candidates regarding when the work for the 9th-10th grade will begin.
SSC’s Assurance and Future Plans
Despite the growing anxiety among candidates, SSC Chairman Siddhartha Majumder has offered reassurance. He stated that there would be no major difficulty in starting the document verification for the 9th-10th grade parallelly while the 11th-12th grade recruitment process continues in January. According to the commission’s plan:
- The verification for the 9th-10th grade will begin immediately after the interview process for the 11th-12th grade is completed.
- The work for the 9th-10th grade will proceed parallelly alongside the counseling process for the 11th-12th grade.
In conclusion, the wait for 9th-10th grade job aspirants has been prolonged a bit further. It remains to be seen how quickly the commission can resolve this deadlock at the beginning of January 2026. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the commission’s official website for further accurate updates.
