West Bengal Government Issues Official Guidelines for ‘Amader Para, Amader Samadhan’ Program

West Bengal Government: The West Bengal government has launched a new initiative named ‘Amader Para, Amader Samadhan’ (Our Neighborhood, Our Solution) to ensure the swift resolution of the daily problems faced by the general public. The main objective of this program is to identify local-level issues and resolve them quickly. According to the announcement by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, this project will reach every person in the state and help improve their quality of life. In this blog post, we will discuss the details of this initiative.

Program’s Main Objective and Duration

The primary goal of the ‘Amader Para, Amader Samadhan’ program is to identify and immediately address minor local problems. While larger projects will be handled separately, this initiative will focus specifically on smaller neighborhood issues.

  • Start Date: The program is set to begin on August 2nd.
  • Duration: It will run until November 3rd, with a 15-day break for the Puja festival.
  • Camp Timings: The camps will operate from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Budget and Infrastructure

The state government has allocated a total of Rs 8000 crore for this program. Each of the more than 80,000 polling booths in the state has been allocated Rs 10 lakh, which will be used to solve local problems.

Camp Organization and Management

The camps will be organized at the same venues as the ‘Duare Sarkar’ (Government at Your Doorstep) camps. Generally, there will be one camp for every three polling booths. However, this arrangement can be modified as needed.

  • Remote Areas: In remote regions, there might be one camp per booth.
  • Urban Areas: In cities, there could be one camp for three or more booths.
  • Website: A list of camp venues and dates will be available on a dedicated website.

Public Participation and Transparency

Special measures have been taken to ensure active public participation in this program. A neutral community representative with no political affiliation will be selected from each polling booth.

  • Representative Selection: Retired teachers, government employees, or members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) who are trusted by the local community can be selected as representatives.
  • Responsibilities: These representatives will engage with residents to identify local issues and will finalize them by signing a document.
  • Government Facilitator: A state government employee will act as a facilitator and will also co-sign the document. This system will ensure transparency throughout the process.

If this initiative is successful, many of the minor daily problems of the people of West Bengal will be resolved quickly, and the direct communication between the government and the public will be further strengthened.
