West Bengal Teachers Job Returning after Supreme Verdict! Verification Process Begins

Teachers Job: Following the Supreme Court’s order to cancel jobs, a crucial notification has been issued for the primary teachers of Purba Medinipur district. The District Primary School Council (DPSC) has released this notice, initiating the document verification process for teachers to return to their previous positions. This process is primarily for those teachers who were in the ‘untainted’ category and whose jobs were not declared illegal by the Supreme Court.
The Main Incident
The Supreme Court delivered a historic verdict on April 3, 2025, which led to the cancellation of approximately 26,000 School Service Commission (SSC) jobs. Subsequently, based on a memo issued by the Government of West Bengal, the Purba Medinipur DPSC has taken this new step. This notification is for all those teachers who did not obtain their jobs through illegal means.
Who is the Verification Process For?
This verification process is for all assistant teachers who were in service until December 31, 2025, and were employed in various primary schools under the Purba Medinipur DPSC. The notification states that all necessary documents of these teachers will be verified for them to return to their old posts.
When and Where Will the Verification Take Place?
According to the notification, all listed teachers are required to report to the Purba Medinipur DPSC office in Tamluk on September 23, 2025, at 11 AM. All their certificates and documents will be verified there.
What Documents are Required?
The following documents must be brought for the verification process:
- Appointment letters for both primary and secondary schools.
- Joining reports for both primary and secondary schools.
- Approval of appointment as a secondary teacher.
- Bank details for salary.
- All academic testimonials (certificates).
- Aadhar Card and PAN Card.
The council has clearly stated that if any teacher fails to submit these documents, they will not be able to return to their old job.
How Many Teachers are on This List?
The list published by the Purba Medinipur DPSC contains the names of a total of 38 candidates (Format B) who are required to participate in the verification process on the specified date. This list includes their employment IDs and details of the schools where they previously worked. These 38 teachers, who were appointed through the SSC, will return to primary schools after the document verification process is completed.
This step is a great relief for all those deserving teachers who were worried about their future for a long time. Now, it remains to be seen how smoothly this verification process is completed and how soon these teachers can return to their old workplaces.
