Yogyashree Scheme 2025: A fantastic initiative has been launched by the West Bengal government for Science stream students across the state. What is the Yogyashree Scheme?
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched this special project in January 2024, keeping the future of students in mind. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide free training for Engineering (JEE/WBJEE) and Medical (NEET) entrance exams to meritorious students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and General categories. Special training centers have been opened in government schools across various districts of the state. Selected students will receive free coaching at these centers along with a stipend of ₹300 per month.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this scheme, a student must be studying in Class 11 (Science Stream) in 2025 and must be aiming to appear for the entrance exams in 2027. Additionally, the annual family income must be less than ₹3 Lakh. Applications will be accepted based on marks obtained in the Madhyamik examination. The list of required marks according to various categories is given below:

How to Apply?
Both online and offline modes are available for applying to the Yogyashree Scheme.
- Online Method: Students can apply directly by visiting the official website
https://wbbcdev.webstep.in/. There, they need to fill out the form with personal details, academic results, and income proof. While applying, one can choose a preferred training center from the district-wise list. - Offline Method: Those willing to apply offline can collect the form from the designated Yogyashree training center in their district and submit the filled form there.
Important Dates
The application process for this session to prepare for the 2027 entrance exams has already begun. Interested students must complete the application process by December 24, 2025. A merit list will be published after the applications are reviewed, and classes will commence accordingly. So, do not delay and complete your application quickly.
