Yuva Sathi Online Application Process: Eligibility and Required Documents List

Yuva Sathi Online Application: The West Bengal government has significantly simplified the application process for the popular ‘Yuva Sathi’ scheme (Yuva Sathi Prakalpa). To minimize crowds at Duare Sarkar camps and make government services more accessible, the state has launched a full-fledged online portal for applications. According to the 2026 guidelines, eligible candidates can now complete the entire process from the comfort of their homes using a smartphone or computer.

Below is a comprehensive guide on eligibility criteria, required digital documents, and the step-by-step form fill-up process.

Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit

Strict adherence to age limits is required for enrollment in this scheme:

  • Age: The applicant must be between 21 and 40 years of age as of 01/04/2026.
  • System Alert: Upon entering the date of birth in the portal, the system will automatically calculate the age. If the applicant falls outside the specified age bracket (below 21 or above 40), a red warning message will appear, and the application will not proceed.

Documents Required for Online Application

Before starting the application, applicants must scan and prepare the following documents. Ensuring the correct file size and format is crucial for successful uploading.

  • PDF Format (Max 2 MB): Madhyamik Admit Card (or equivalent for age proof), Mark sheet or Certificate, Aadhar Card, Voter Card, Bank Passbook, and Caste Certificate (if applicable for SC/ST/OBC).
  • JPG/PNG Format (Max 1 MB): Recent colour passport-size photograph and scanned signature of the applicant.

Step-by-Step Online Application Process

1. Registration and Login:
Visit the official portal (https://apas.wb.gov.in/) and click on ‘Apply Online’. Enter your mobile number and the Captcha code to receive an OTP. Verify the OTP to access the main application form.

2. Personal and Family Details:
Fill in details like Name, Gender, Date of Birth, and Category (SC/ST/OBC/General) accurately. It is recommended to use the name spelling exactly as it appears on the Madhyamik documents. Married women should also use their maiden name (as per school records). Additionally, enter the names of parents and spouse (if applicable).

3. Address and Education:
Select the full address including District, Block/Municipality, Police Station, and Gram Panchayat from the dropdown menus. For educational qualifications, provide details of the highest examination passed, including the year, board/university, and roll number.

4. Occupation Selection (Crucial Step):
Applicants often get confused about what to write in the ‘Present Occupation’ field. As per the guidelines, it is advisable not to select ‘Not Employed’ or ‘Unemployed’. Instead, if you are studying, select ‘Student’, or if you are engaged in small businesses or tuition, select ‘Self Employed’.

5. Bank Details and Final Submission:
Carefully enter the details of an Aadhar-linked bank account, including the Account Number and IFSC Code. In the final section, declare if you are receiving benefits from other government schemes (like Kanyashree or Aikyashree). After uploading all documents, click on the declaration box and hit ‘Final Submit’.

Upon successful submission, an ‘Application ID’ will be generated. It is essential to note this down or take a screenshot, as it will be required to check the application status in the future.
