Big Change in Govt Job Recruitment! Nabanna Sets 30-Day Timeline for Police Verification

Police Verification: In a groundbreaking move to bring transparency and reduce delays in the government job recruitment process, the West Bengal government has recently taken a decisive step. From now on, candidates will no longer have to wait indefinitely for police verification (PVR) and medical examinations. According to a new directive issued from Nabanna, both these processes must be completed within 30 days. This step is expected to make the government job recruitment process faster and more transparent.

Key Highlights of the New Directive

  • Time Limit: After the West Bengal Public Service Commission or any other recruiting authority recommends the names of candidates, the concerned department must promptly inform the candidates about the next steps via email, website notifications, and post. The entire process of police verification and medical examination must be completed within this 30-day period.
  • Physical Verification: If physical verification is required for the police verification, that too must be completed within the same 30-day timeframe.
  • Training: Upon completion of police verification and medical examination, the candidates will be directed to their respective training academies or departments for orientation and training. This will ensure that candidates no longer face long waits to receive their appointment letters and join their service.
  • Accountability: If any official fails to adhere to these timelines, departmental action will be taken against them. It has been stated that continued and unjustified delays will attract strict disciplinary action.

Why this Step?

It has been observed in the past that delays in receiving police verification and medical examination reports often stalled the recruitment process. This caused delays for candidates in joining their jobs and starting their careers. To address this issue, the state government has issued this new directive.

This move will bring new momentum to the recruitment process and reduce the harassment faced by candidates. Thousands of job aspirants have welcomed this initiative by the West Bengal government. Now, it remains to be seen how effectively this directive is implemented and how much transparency it brings to the recruitment process.
