Higher Secondary Third Semester Routine: A new semester system is being introduced at the Higher Secondary level from the academic year 2025-26. The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has recently published the detailed schedule and guidelines for the third-semester examination. This new system has opened up a new horizon for students, teachers, and guardians.

New Examination Schedule
The third-semester examination for the year 2025 will begin on September 8 and end on September 22.
The entire examination will be conducted on OMR sheets, which is a major change at the Higher Secondary level. The examination schedule is given below:
- September 8 (Monday): First Language
- September 9 (Tuesday): Vocational Subjects
- September 10 (Wednesday): Second Language
- September 11 (Thursday): Economics, Anthropology, Science of Wellbeing, Applied Artificial Intelligence
- September 12 (Friday): Physics, Nutrition, Education, Accountancy
- September 13 (Saturday): Computer Science, Modern Computer Application, Environmental Studies, Health & Physical Education, Visual Art, Music
- September 15 (Monday): Statistics, Psychology, Commercial Law & Preliminaries of Auditing, History
- September 16 (Tuesday): Chemistry, Geography, Human Development & Resource Management, Business Studies
- September 18 (Thursday): Philosophy
- September 19 (Friday): Mathematics, Agriculture, Journalism & Mass Communication, Persian, Arabic, Sanskrit
- September 20 (Saturday): Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Sociology
- September 22 (Monday): Biological Science, Political Science, Costing & Taxation

Examination Timings and Important Guidelines
Most of the examinations will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM. However, the timing for Visual Arts, Music, and Vocational subjects has been fixed from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM.
Here are some important guidelines issued by the council for the students:
- Admit Card: The school authorities will download the admit cards online from the council’s website and distribute them among the students.
- Required Documents: Admit card and registration certificate must be carried on the day of the examination.
- Writing Instruments: Only black or blue ballpoint pens can be used to fill the OMR sheets.
- Permitted Items: Pencils, erasers, transparent pencil boxes, water bottles, and clipboards can be carried into the examination hall.
- Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or any kind of written or printed material are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
- Reporting Time: Students must reach the examination center at least one hour before the examination begins.
This new semester system is expected to help reduce the pressure of examinations on the students and make the evaluation system more continuous. Students should start adapting to the new examination system and begin their preparations from now on.
