WB Salary Date: Salary in Advance for September! Good News for State Government Employees Ahead of Puja
WB Salary Date: In a move bringing festive cheer to lakhs of state government employees, pensioners, and beneficiaries of various government schemes, the Finance Department of the Government of West Bengal has issued a crucial notification. According to Memo No. 3405-F(Y), it has been decided to disburse the salaries, pensions, and other financial assistance for the month of September 2025 ahead of schedule. This decision will allow employees to manage their festival shopping and other preparations with ease.
Why This Early Disbursement?
The primary reason for this decision is the long stretch of holidays for Durga Puja. As per the official notification, State Government offices will remain closed for the period from 26th September to 7th October, 2025. To ensure that employees and pensioners face no financial inconvenience due to the extended holidays, the Finance Department has arranged for these advance payments.
When Will the Payments Be Credited? Know the Detailed Dates
The memorandum issued by the Finance Department has specified the exact dates for the various disbursements for September 2025. Here are the details:
- Salary and Other Allowances: Salary for September 2025, including Grant-in-Aid salary, wages, remuneration, stipend, and honorarium, will be paid on the 24th & 25th of September, 2025. All DDOs and Administrators of Deposit Accounts have been instructed to submit the necessary bills/advices to the Treasuries well in advance to facilitate this process.
- Pension: Pension for retired government employees for the month of September 2025 will be disbursed on October 1st, 2025. This ensures pensioners will receive their funds at the beginning of the month.
- Government Schemes: Financial assistance under popular schemes such as “Jai Bangla” and “Lakshmir Bhandar” will be credited directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) on October 1st, 2025.
Official Notification and Its Authenticity
This notification has been signed and issued by P.K. Mishra, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of West Bengal. Copies of the memorandum have been forwarded to all relevant departments for information and necessary action, including the Principal Accountant General (A&E), all department Secretaries, District Magistrates, and Treasury Officers. Furthermore, the Network Administrator of the Finance Department has been requested to upload a copy of this order on the department’s website for public access and verification.
