New PAN Card Rules: Apply for a New PAN Card in Just 5 Minutes from the UTI Portal

New PAN Card: Hello friends, in today’s article, we will discuss how you can apply for a new PAN card in just five minutes from the comfort of your home through the UTI portal. This process is entirely digital, and you do not need to submit any physical documents. You can complete this process using the OTP (One-Time Password) sent to the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar card.
Details of Digital PAN Card Application
There are two modes for applying for a PAN card from the UTI portal – Physical and Digital. If you apply in Physical mode, you have to fill out the form, attach the necessary documents, and submit it to the nearest UTI office. But in Digital mode, none of this is required. Below are some important details of the digital mode:
- Aadhaar-based e-KYC: In this method, your Aadhaar card information is automatically verified, which makes the application process much faster.
- Who can apply: Any Indian citizen above the age of 18 can apply for a PAN card through this method. However, this process is not applicable for minors (below 18 years).
- Photo and Signature: When you apply through the digital method, the photo from your Aadhaar card will be used on your PAN card. No signature will be printed on the PAN card, but there will be a designated space for you to sign after you receive the card.
- Application Fee: For this digital application, you will have to pay a fee of ₹106.90, which you can pay through UPI, debit card, or net banking.

Sometimes, the Aadhaar OTP does not arrive on the first attempt after making the payment. In that case, do not panic. You can go to the “Regenerate Online PAN Application” option and regenerate the OTP by entering your application number and date of birth.
Instant PAN cards can be generated from both NSDL and UTI portals. However, in the case of NSDL, the e-PAN card usually arrives within one to two hours, whereas, with UTI, it might take a little longer.
