RailOne App: Trouble of Booking Train Tickets Over! Easy Way to Book Confirmed Tickets from Home on New RailOne App

RailOne App: The days of standing in long queues at railway stations to book train tickets are coming to an end. Leveraging the benefits of Digital India, a new initiative by Indian Railways is set to significantly reduce the hassle for common passengers. With the recently launched ‘RailOne’ app, passengers can now book tickets easily from the comfort of their homes using their mobile phones.

Previously, passengers had to use separate apps like UTS for local trains and IRCTC for long-distance or express trains. Now, the new RailOne app brings all these facilities under one roof. Let’s explore how to use this app and what its special features are.

All Train Services in One App

The biggest advantage of the RailOne app is its versatility. Passengers no longer need to keep multiple apps on their phones. Through this single app, you can book tickets for local trains, express trains, and even platform tickets. This not only saves time but also reduces complexity and saves storage space on mobile devices.

Guide to Account Creation and Profile Setup

Before using the app, proper registration is mandatory. To ensure security and transparency, the railway authorities have defined a specific process:

  • Download and Sign-Up: First, download the ‘RailOne’ app from the Play Store. Then, proceed to the ‘Register’ option using your phone number. Start the sign-up process by entering your name, email ID, and a strong password.
  • Security and Verification: Verify your account using the OTP received on your phone during registration. It is advisable to set a 4-digit MPIN for quick login access in the future.
  • Profile Update: To access full features, updating your profile in the ‘You’ section is mandatory. You must provide your correct date of birth, gender, and address. The most crucial step is linking an identity card (PAN, Aadhaar, or Voter ID). Finally, verifying your email ID will make your profile 100% ready.

Ticket Booking Process

Once the profile is set up, booking a ticket is extremely simple. The interface is designed to be user-friendly for everyone:

  1. Station Selection: After logging in, go to the ‘Reserve’ option and select your departure and destination stations. Choose the date of journey from the calendar and search for trains.
  2. Seat and Passenger Selection: Choose your preferred train and class (e.g., 2S, CC, 3A). If seats are available, click on the specific coach. Then, use the ‘Add New’ option to enter passenger details like name and age. Remember, a maximum of 6 passengers can be added to a single PNR.
  3. Payment: Carefully review all the journey details. Complete the payment using UPI (PhonePe, Google Pay) or wallets to generate your PDF ticket.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If you need to cancel your journey for any reason, there is no need to worry. Tickets can be easily cancelled from the ‘My Booking’ section of the app.

  • You can choose to cancel tickets for all passengers or specific individuals.
  • Simply go to the ‘Cancel Ticket’ option and confirm to process the cancellation.
  • As per railway rules, after deducting the applicable charges, the remaining amount will be refunded to your source bank account within 3 working days.

This app is considered a significant step towards making the rail travel experience smoother and hassle-free for passengers.
