Bhumihin Kshetmajur Prakalpa: WB Landless Agricultural Labourer Scheme Status Check Process Explained

Bhumihin Kshetmajur Prakalpa: The Agriculture Department of the West Bengal Government continues its efforts to support the marginalized sections of society. Specifically targeting individuals who work in agriculture but do not own any land, the state has introduced the “Bhumihin Kshetmajur Prakalpa” (Landless Agricultural Labourer Scheme). This initiative aims to provide financial security to laborers working on others’ land. A significant update has recently been released regarding this scheme: applicants can now check their application status online from the comfort of their homes.

How to Check Status Online

For those who submitted their applications at Duare Sarkar camps or other government offices, tracking the approval status has become hassle-free. Similar to schemes like Yuvasree, the Agriculture Department has launched a dedicated portal for transparency.

  • First, visit the specific portal designated by the Agriculture Department.
  • Click on the ‘Check Application’ or ‘Application Status’ option on the homepage.
  • You will be provided with options to search using your Voter ID, Aadhaar Number, Acknowledgement Number, or Mobile Number. Entering any of these and clicking ‘Search’ will display your current status.

Important Note: Many applicants might encounter a “No Record Found” message upon searching. There is no need to panic. This simply indicates that your physical application form has not yet been digitized or entered into the system database. Data entry work is currently in full swing, so checking again after a few days should reflect the correct status.

Financial Benefits and Structure

Designed along the lines of the Krishak Bandhu (New) scheme, this project is exclusively for the landless.

  • Annual Grant: Beneficiaries under this scheme will receive a total financial grant of ₹4,000 annually.
  • Installment Details: The amount will not be disbursed at once. It will be provided in two equal installments of ₹2,000 each during the Kharif and Rabi crop seasons, transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account.

Eligibility Criteria

Not everyone is eligible to apply for this scheme. Benefits are restricted to those who meet specific government guidelines:

  1. The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
  2. The individual must not own any agricultural land and must be entirely dependent on others’ land for their livelihood.
  3. Applicants already benefiting from the ‘Krishak Bandhu’ scheme or those recorded as ‘Bargadars’ (sharecroppers) in government records are ineligible.

Application Process and Documents

It is important to note that there is no facility for direct online application for this scheme. Applications must be submitted offline by filling out a specific form. These are accepted at Duare Sarkar camps or local agriculture offices. Along with the application, mandatory documents include a Voter ID card, Aadhaar card, Bank Account details (passbook copy or cancelled cheque), passport-sized photographs, and a Self-Declaration form stating the applicant is landless. Nominee details must also be provided.

This initiative brings significant relief to countless landless agricultural laborers in the state. Verify your application status today through the official portal.
