HS Third Semester Answer Key Published! How to Apply if You Scored Low Marks? Know in Detail
HS Answer Key: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has taken a significant step. The answer key for the recently concluded third-semester examination has been uploaded on the council’s website. Students can now verify their scores by comparing the official answer key with the carbon copy of their OMR sheet. This was the first time that students in the state appeared for the Higher Secondary examination on OMR sheets, marking a new experience for them.
The results for the third semester were published on October 31st. The pass percentage in this examination stood at an impressive 93.72%. A total of 6,45,832 candidates participated in this examination. Conducted in September, the exam covered a total of 66 subjects, including 16 vocational subjects.
Purpose and Steps for the Answer Key Release
The primary objective behind this initiative by the WBCHSE is to bring transparency to the evaluation process. The answer key has been published to ensure that students have no doubts regarding their marks.
Chiranjib Bhattacharya, the President of the WBCHSE, stated, “Students must compare the marks they have received with the answer key. If there is any discrepancy with the expected marks, candidates can contact the regional office or the council’s head office. If any correction is needed, it will certainly be done.”

How to Apply for Mark Correction?
If a student finds that their score is lower than expected after matching the answer key, they can apply for a correction. The following steps need to be taken:
- Step 1: First, carefully match the carbon copy of your OMR sheet with the answer key provided on the council’s website.
- Step 2: If any discrepancy is found, such as not receiving marks for a correct answer, gather proof.
- Step 3: The candidate must then contact their nearest Regional Office or the Council’s Head Office directly.
- Step 4: There, they must follow the specified procedure to submit an application for mark correction.
The council has assured that every application will be reviewed with utmost importance, and if any error is found, it will be rectified promptly. This move is expected to build confidence among students and guardians.
