The rumors claiming a newly implemented waiting period for cooking gas are entirely baseless and misleading. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) and the Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Government of India have categorically denied any modifications to the existing policies. Releasing an official statement on March 25, 2026, the authorities dismissed the fake news. Therefore, the specific 35-day or 45-day restrictions based purely on the type of connection are completely false.

The government has reiterated that the standard booking cycle remains completely unchanged. For the convenience of the citizens, here are the actual guidelines currently in effect:
- For Urban Areas: Residents living in cities can seamlessly book their next LPG cylinder after a minimum gap of 25 days.
- For Rural Areas: Consumers residing in rural regions have a predefined waiting period of 45 days between two consecutive bookings.
- Irrespective of Connection Type: Whether you own a single cylinder, a double connection, or are a PMUY beneficiary, the booking gap strictly depends on your geographical area (urban or rural), not on your connection category.
