SLST Interview Process: Major Change in SSC SLST Interview! Know the New Rules and Complete Recruitment Process

SLST Interview Process: The School Service Commission (SSC) is heading towards a major change in the SLST (State Level Selection Test) teacher recruitment process. This time, several new procedures will be adopted before the interview process, the most significant of which is completing the candidate verification phase before the interview itself. This decision is expected to make the recruitment process more transparent and faster.

Final Answer Key and Result Publication

According to commission sources, the final answer key for the SLST exam will be published very soon. It is expected to be released by the first week of November. The final results will be announced shortly after. There is also speculation that the commission might release the final answer key and the result on the same day to expedite the recruitment process. The main objective behind this is to minimize the chances of legal challenges from candidates who do not get called for the interview, which could delay the procedure.

New Steps in the Recruitment Process

The commission will follow a specific ratio for publishing the results. Initially, candidates will be called in a 1.6 ratio, meaning for every 100 vacancies, 160 candidates will be selected for the next stage. However, if multiple candidates score the same cut-off marks, all of them will be called. As a result, the total number of candidates could exceed the specified ratio.

The steps for this year’s recruitment process are:

  • Publication of the Final Merit List.

Verification Before Interview

The biggest change this year is that after the results are declared, candidates will first be called for document verification instead of directly for the interview. Successful candidates will be able to download an intimation letter for the verification process. The primary goal is to verify the authenticity of the information provided by the candidates during form fill-up.

This verification process will be completely region-based. The SSC has a total of five regions, and candidates will have to report to the specific region corresponding to the ‘Present Address’ they provided during the application.

Candidate Rejection and New Opportunities

It is anticipated that several candidates may be disqualified during the verification stage, especially due to complexities related to experience certificates. Many candidates might be deemed ineligible if there is ambiguity in information regarding contractual or substantive posts.

For the vacancies created by these rejections, new candidates will be called for verification, and fresh call letters will be issued for them.

Interview and Final List

Once the verification phase is completed across all five regions, a list of all verified candidates will be sent to the central office. From there, a centralised interview list will be prepared, and call letters for the interview will be dispatched. The interview process will also be conducted region-wise. Finally, the marks obtained by all candidates will be consolidated to prepare the final central merit list.

The commission is on a tight schedule, with a deadline to complete the entire process by December 31st. The recruitment for the 11th-12th standard level will be completed first, followed by the 9th-10th standard level.
